“Photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting an ordinary place… I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.” – Elliott Erwitt
Welcome to “La Foto del Día“of TellittomeWalking.com!
This post marks the beginning of what I like to think of as an on-going visual document of some of the different places, people and cultures that I’ve come to know simply because of my combined love for the spanish language and travel…
And the pursuit of capturing it all with my CAMERA!!!
I truly believe that the study of language has given me access to whole new worlds around me.
And it’s with my camera that I like to dig deeper into these worlds — to bring other lives (as well as my own) and places and cultures into focus — and try to express a vision that comes uniquely from that access.
And here is where I’d like to begin sharing that vision with you, along with a little more details regarding the different images that appear, the “back story,” if you will, as well as pertinent camera setting and exposure information.
Just like taking photos will beget more and better photos, I’m hoping that hitting “publish” everyday will only beget more and publishing!
So the idea is to try to publish at least 1 photo per day that was/is created while traveling throughout Latin America and the Spanish-Speaking World.
For now, you will see a lot of different photos from Colombia and Ecuador (as the bulk of my most recent work was just created there), however, I strongly welcome and encourage guest photographer submissions and contributions and any other dialogue related to photography and travel in Latin America and el mundo latino.
Anyone interested in submitting can reach out to me by sending an email to Jamie@tellittomewalking.com or by clicking the contact button on my homepage.
I say that’s all for now. Thanks for reading and Happy Photo Snapping!!!
