Behold —
Just one of the many creatures that go bump in the night in the amazon rain forests of Ecuador —
El Escarabajo Hercules: The largest of the Rhinoceros beetles (los escarabajos rinoceronte) native to the rain forests of Ecuador, and other parts of Central and South America.
These particular beetles were found and photographed at el Museo de la Ciudad Mitad del Mundo just outside of Quito, a museum dedicated to all things that are imaginary and divide the southern and northern hemispheres…
…and of course all the natural wonders that just so happen to be in the diverse territories of La República del Ecuador.
